Effective Jan. 1, Dr. Kate Drowne has been named associate provost for faculty affairs, and Dr. Islam El-Adaway has been appointed associate provost for St. Louis operations.

Drowne joined Missouri S&T in 2001 and has served in several leadership roles, including associate dean for academic affairs and interim vice provost and dean in the College of Arts, Sciences and Business. She most recently served as assistant provost for faculty affairs.

El-Adaway will lead and coordinate efforts to expand Missouri S&T’s academic presence in the St. Louis metropolitan area, which accounts for about 40% of Missouri’s workforce and an even larger share of economic activity. He previously served as associate dean for academic partnerships and, most recently, as director of corporate partnerships for the College of Engineering and Computing.
