Interstate 44 is a vital east-west corridor across Missouri and the nation. Completed in 1966, much of the corridor no longer aligns with current engineering and safety standards. To address this, MoDOT partnered with Garver and Hg Consult on a data-driven re-evaluation of 252 miles of the interstate. The resulting Forward 44 study provides a strategic foundation that balances engineering, safety, environmental and economic considerations, and public input to guide future improvements.
