Auditions for the Spring 2026 University Wind Symphony will be held 4:30–7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in Castleman Hall. Students who play brass, woodwind or percussion instruments are encouraged to audition—oboe and bassoon players are especially needed.

The Wind Symphony rehearses noon–12:50 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the semester and performs a variety of wind band works. The major piece for spring will be Johan de Meij’s Symphony No. 1 “The Lord of the Rings.”

Sign up for a 10-minute audition block for each instrument you wish to audition for (multiple instruments allowed) on the sheets posted next to the Band Room in Castleman Hall. Audition materials and instructions are available in the hallway near the sign-up sheets.

Students on co-op can contact Dr. David Samson to receive audition materials electronically or to submit a video audition.

To join the Spring Wind Symphony, you must complete an audition on the audition date—no late auditions will be accepted.
