Maimaitiyiming named Engineering Unleashed Fellow

Dr. Wumaier Maimaitiyiming, assistant teaching professor of mathematics and statistics, was named a 2025 Engineering Unleashed Fellow. He is one of 29 fellows selected nationwide by the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network (KEEN). Through the fellowship, Maimaitiyiming will receive a $10,000 grant from the Kern Family Foundation to support a project that integrates modeling and optimization concepts into foundational math courses to help students apply mathematical theory to real-world problems.
