Panel to address disaster resiliency and building codes Oct. 8

Missouri S&T will host an expert panel discussion on disaster resiliency and building codes 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Hy Point Building, located at 4000 Enterprise Drive in Rolla.

Panelists will discuss how understanding building codes and implementing resiliency measures can help protect communities from future disasters. The event will feature Dr. Grace Yan, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering and director of S&T’s Center for Hazard Mitigation and Community Resilience; Matt Belcher, principal and COO of Enhanced Building Systems, LLC; and Mindi Allison, outreach director for Safer + Simpler Missouri.
