Dr. Vadym Mochalin, associate professor of chemistry, leads an international research team developing a nanodiamond-based drug delivery platform to treat exposure to nerve agents such as sarin and Novichok. Their findings were recently published in Chemico-Biological Interactions.

The platform also shows promise for delivering treatments across the blood-brain barrier for neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.
