Join panel discussion on mental health and suicide prevention

Missouri S&T students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a panel discussion titled “Building HOPE Through Action,” focused on mental health and suicide prevention 3-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the Innovation Lab Forum. The event is part of Mental Well-Being Awareness Week and aims to foster open dialogue, share resources and encourage proactive support across campus.

Panelists include:

  • Brandon Anderson, vice president of safety and co-founder/chair of the Associated General Contractors of Missouri (AGCMO)
  • Dr. Joel Burken, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering
  • Jessica Gargus, assistant vice chancellor for student health and well-being
  • Traci Krygiel, MSW, LCSW, senior assistant director of student well-being
  • Chief Doug Roberts, chief of police for University Police
  • Robert Schiffer, construction manager with Black & Veatch
  • Simone Waldon, manager of the Staff Success Center.

Moderators:

  • Derek Zboran, training and outreach coordinator for student well-being
  • Barb Prewett, interim dean of students and director of community standards.

Refreshments will be provided. No registration is required.
