Missouri S&T’s arts, languages, and philosophy department will present a jazz concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in Leach Theatre. Matthew Sokeland, jazz lecturer at Missouri S&T, directs the jazz band.

The concert will feature both S&T jazz ensembles, the Joe Big Band and the Miner Big Band. A pre-show will feature the student-led jazz combo. The concert will feature music from classic artists such as Count Basie as well as music from newer artists like Gordon Goodwin in a variety of styles from swing and Latin to funk.

Tickets are $5 for the public and free to individuals age 18 and younger and Missouri S&T students with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased online at leachtheatre.mst.edu or by calling 573-341-4219. Service fees may apply to tickets purchased online. Tickets can also be purchased at the Leach Theatre Box Office starting at 6 p.m.
