Missouri University of Science and Technology’s arts, languages and philosophy department will present its annual fall jazz concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, located at 10th and Main streets on the Missouri S&T campus.

The jazz band, directed by Matthew Sokeland, lecturer in music at Missouri S&T, will feature both S&T jazz ensembles—the Joe Big Band and the Miner Big Band. A student-led jazz combo will perform a pre-show set.

The concert will include music from classic bands such as Count Basie and newer artists like Gordon Goodwin, with a variety of styles ranging from swing and Latin to funk.

Tickets are $5 for the public and free for youth ages 18 and under and Missouri S&T students with a valid ID. Tickets may be purchased online at leachtheatre.mst.edu or by calling 573-341-4219. Service fees may apply to online purchases. Tickets are also available at the Leach Theatre Box Office beginning one hour before the performance.
