Missouri S&T has joined the High-Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) scientific collaboration. The partnership was made possible by Dr. Xiaojie Wang, assistant professor of physics.
HAWC is an international effort that involves more than 30 institutions worldwide. Its detector, located on the Sierra Negra volcano in Puebla, Mexico, studies high-energy phenomena such as supernova explosions, gamma-ray bursts and active galactic nuclei.
