Dr. Mahelet Fikru, professor of economics, co-authored “An Analysis of Mergers in the Presence of Uncertainty in Renewable Energy Integration Costs,” published in Energy Economics, one of the leading journals in the field of energy economics.
The study examines how uncertainty in renewable energy integration costs influences the profitability and outcomes of mergers among energy producers. With the growing share of renewable resources in energy markets, understanding the effects of industry consolidation is important for policymakers, regulators and market participants, he says.
