Nick Akers, president and CEO of Inzo Technologies, will share his practical roadmap for entrepreneurship during the Kummer Keynote Speaker Series at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in Room B10 of Bertelsmeyer Hall. All students, faculty and staff are invited, and students can register on MinerLink.
Akers has led Inzo Technologies since 2023, previously known as STL Communications. Under his leadership, Inzo has expanded its offerings in managed IT, cloud services, voice, networking and cybersecurity, positioning the company as a comprehensive technology partner in the Midwest.
Before leading Inzo, Akers founded Akermin, a startup commercializing enzyme technology, and later served as managing director at Jost Chemical, expanding its international reach. He has also advised biotech startups as interim CEO. In 2025, he was named to the St. Louis Titan 100 and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemistry from Saint Louis University.
The Kummer Keynote Speaker Series brings leaders and innovators to Missouri S&T to share lessons in technology, entrepreneurship and leadership. Designed for students, the series offers practical takeaways, Q&A and networking to explore career and research opportunities. Presented by the Kummer Vanguard Scholars Student Steering Committee, it is open to all students, faculty and staff.
