Adekunle Olatunde Adesanya, a Ph.D. student in materials science and engineering, received a scholarship to attend the 2025 Modeling, Experimentation and Validation (MeV) Summer School at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee. The two-week program, held July 21-Aug. 1, brought together 46 early-career nuclear researchers and engineers to address materials challenges in next-generation nuclear systems.

Participants completed lectures, tours of ORNL facilities, and a team project. Adesanya’s team received the Best Team Presentation Award for their work on a practical challenge related to nuclear materials. The program provided advanced training, collaboration and networking.
