Missouri S&T has launched a new task force to enhance student persistence by addressing barriers to retention, promoting access, and supporting populations that are historically vulnerable to attrition.
The Persistence Task Force plans to expand academic and support services, foster a sense of belonging, improve financial access, increase retention through data-driven strategies, and create opportunities for research, internships and leadership. The efforts aim to ensure every Missouri S&T student has the resources and support to thrive.
Led by Leticia Steffen, assistant vice chancellor for academic achievement and enrichment, and Christina Sheffel, retention specialist, the task force reports to Provost John Harris and Vice Chancellor for Student Success Robin Gore.
