As needs grow across campus, information technology (IT) continues efforts to improve the technology acquisition process. To enhance the experience for faculty, staff and students, IT has introduced a new questionnaire for submitting asset requests.

Who is affected?
Faculty, staff and students who submit requests for hardware, software or services through the technology acquisition process.

When is this happening?
The new technology acquisition questionnaire is available starting Friday, Aug. 8.

What do I use?
The new questionnaire is available at Information Technology Asset Request.

Additional details:

The new questionnaire aims to gather important information early in the request process for hardware, software and other services. By collecting these details upfront, IT staff can better understand user needs, reduce unnecessary back-and-forth and shorten the overall review timeline. The goal is to make the experience more efficient and responsive for the campus community.

“This is one of many improvements we’ve made over the past year,” says Dr. Barry Robbins, chief information officer at S&T. “We are continuing to make improvements to help our faculty and staff meet the demands of their roles.”

Because this is a new application that is still in progress, Robbins says that feedback from the community will be essential to refining and improving it. IT staff encourage anyone who uses the new questionnaire to share their thoughts or report any issues they encounter while completing the questionnaire.Contact the S&T IT Help Desk by chatting at helpdesk.mst.edu or submit a ticket at help.mst.edu
