BitLocker is a security feature of the Microsoft Windows operating system. The S&T IT team enabled BitLocker on groups of Windows computers over the last several months. On Thursday, May 22, S&T IT activated BitLocker on all remaining managed computers.

Why is this happening?

BitLocker encrypts computer drives to protect sensitive data in case of loss or theft. OneDrive provides storage space in the cloud which allows access to your files from multiple devices.

What is changing?

Your drive will be encrypted for enhanced security.  Day-to-day operations and behavior of your device should remain unchanged.

Who is impacted?

Users of IT managed computers on campus.
