Stacey Fuller, executive assistant for facility planning and operations, and Larissa Holthaus, office support assistant for the Intelligent Systems Center, played key roles in supporting the Rolla community after a tornado disrupted power and services on March 14.
Fuller organized a volunteer effort at the Gale Bullman Building, creating stations where community members could access showers over a period of several days while waiting for power to be restored.
Holthaus assisted by checking in community members and distributing comfort bags containing hygiene products and other essentials. She also referred individuals struggling with mental health challenges to Compass Health for additional support.
“These efforts may seem simple, but they made an incredible difference in the lives of anyone who came to the Gale Bullman Building following the storm,” says Ethan Stencil, student recreation manager.
