The Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAFE) invites faculty, staff and students to a talk on artificial intelligence and student learning by Dr. Badri Adhikari, associate professor of computer science at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. His seminar, titled “Beyond Academic Honesty: Helping Students Excel in Their Process and Reflect on AI Usage,” will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, in Room 222 Computer Science Building.

Adhikari will shift the conversation from punitive models of academic integrity toward a process-oriented approach that cultivates deeper learning and critical thinking. He will demonstrate several free online tools that help students explore their writing and coding workflows while reflecting on their AI use in meaningful ways.

Adhikari is the creator of Process Feedback, an educational tool designed to support metacognition and academic integrity. His research in artificial intelligence and bioinformatics has been supported by NASA, Google, NVIDIA and the National Science Foundation.
