Register for beekeeping class by Feb. 15

Join the Rolla Bee Club for its second beginning beekeeping class 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Doolittle Community Center, located at 380 Eisenhower St. in Rolla. The registration deadline is Saturday, Feb. 15.

This class will cover everything a beginning beekeeper needs to consider before getting bees, from how to handle a hive tool to options for varroa mites, all based on best management practices.

The class costs $100 per student or $180 for a couple and includes a catered lunch, refreshments, class materials and a chance to win beekeeping prizes.

Rolla Bee Club classes are certified by Great Plains Master Beekeeping and are accredited toward master beekeeping certification. Participants must be age 15 or older.
