The Campus Performing Arts Series continues March 2 with “Astronaut Group 1,” which brings in the early years of space exploration to the stage. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March. 2, in Leach Theatre in Castleman Hall. Tickets are $25 for the public, $20 for S&T faculty and staff, and $5 for youth ages 18 and younger and S&T students.
“Astronaut Group 1” tells the story of the Mercury Seven, an elite group chosen from among hundreds of military test pilots to be America’s first astronauts. The audience gets to share in the thrills of early space exploration from the exhilaration of Alan Shepard’s first moments in space to the adrenaline rush of John Glenn making split-second decisions to survive re-entry.
