Shrestha earns IEEE Outstanding Educator award

Dr. Bijaya Shrestha, associate teaching professor of electrical and computer engineering, earned the IEEE St. Louis section’s 2024 Outstanding Educator award. The section’s annual award ceremony was held Nov. 23 at Missouri S&T.
Shrestha has taught electrical and computer engineering courses since 1986 and received Missouri S&T’s Faculty Achievement Award for his dedication in teaching and service. Additionally, his research using image processing algorithms to help detect skin cancer received a U.S. patent in 2010.
