Mark your calendars for a lineup of student musical performances

The Missouri S&T arts, languages and philosophy department will host several musical performances this semester. Performances will be held in Leach Theatre unless otherwise noted:

Wind symphony and symphonic band concert

  • 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23
  • Directed by Dr. David Samson, assistant professor of music.

University band concert

  • 7 p.m. Friday, April 11
  • Directed by Samson.

Jazz ensemble concert

  • 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13
  • Directed by Matthew Sokeland, lecturer for arts, languages and philosophy.

Outdoor wind symphony concert

  • Noon Wednesday, April 30, on the Castleman Hall lawn.
  • Rain date: Friday, May 2
  • Directed by Samson
  • Free to attend, no tickets required.

Jazz choir and chamber choir concert

  • 7 p.m.  Friday, May 2
  • Directed by Lorie Francis, teaching professor of music.

Symphony orchestra concert

  • 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4
  • Directed by Foster Beyers, university orchestra director
  • Program: Schubert’s “Unfinished Symphony” and Tchaikovsky’s suite from “Swan Lake.”

Ticket prices for all concerts except the outdoor performance are $5 for the public and free for youth ages 18 and under and S&T students with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased online at leachtheatre.mst.edu or by calling 573-341-4219. Service fees may apply to tickets purchased online.
