Dr. Shane Epting, associate professor of philosophy, has made contributions to philosophy and urban studies through recent publications, presentations and panel discussions.
Epting’s latest article, “Weak Anthropocentrism’s Future,” was published in the journal Environmental Ethics, offering insights into environmental philosophy and the implications of human-centered ethics.
Epting also delivered a keynote address at the Political Philosophy of the City workshop at ETH Zürich, sponsored by the Swiss National Science Foundation. His talk contributed to discussions on urban philosophy and the intersection of politics and city life.
At the Philosophy of the City Conference in Madrid, Epting joined an author-meets-critics panel for his book Meaning in the Metropolis: Toward an Urban Existentialism. The event was sponsored by the Spanish National Research Council’s Institute of Philosophy – Centre for Human and Social Sciences, and the Philosophy of the City Research Group.
