Yan selected National Academies committee on extreme weather

Dr. Grace Yan, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, has been selected to serve on the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s committee on attribution of extreme weather events, climate change and their impact. The committee will assess current scientific methods for linking severe weather incidents to climate change. Their work will consider factors such as natural variability and the limitations of existing climate models.
