Colin Potts, provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs, has announced his plans to retire from Missouri S&T at the end of the 2024-25 academic year.

Potts has led the Academic Affairs division since 2021, overseeing the university’s academic functions, including faculty affairs, undergraduate education, graduate education, University Libraries, online education, enrollment management and the three colleges. During his tenure, S&T established its third college, the Kummer College, introduced two new undergraduate degrees and two graduate degrees and increased its faculty ranks for the first time in a decade.

“Colin has been a valuable asset to our university,” says Chancellor Mo Dehghani. “His dedication to academic excellence has left a lasting mark on S&T, and we are grateful for his service. I thank him for his contributions to Missouri S&T and wish him all the best.”

Dehghani is forming a committee to conduct a national search for Potts’ successor.
