The S&T ADVANCE Program will host a distinguished lecture with Dr. Dawn K. Culpepper, director of the University of Maryland’s ADVANCE Program, at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the Ozark Room of Havener Center. She will speak on the importance of equitable faculty workloads in “Making Faculty Workloads Fair: Understanding the Problem and Strategies to Address It.”
Culpepper will discuss why academic units should address workload inequities and provide an overview of how departments can put in place policies and practices shown to enhance equity in the way faculty work is taken up, assigned and rewarded. All interested faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend. A reception will follow the lecture.
