Join civil, architectural and environmental engineering for the dedication of the Dr. Wei-Wen and Yueh-Hsin Yu Knowledge Center 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in Room 301 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall and on Zoom. Dr. Yu will join the event online from his home in Boston, where he celebrated his 101st birthday earlier this year.

The Yu Learning Center was made possible by support from Dr. Yu, Curators’ Distinguished Professor emeritus of civil engineering, and his family, who named the space as part of the Butler-Carlton renovations completed in 2004. Since that time, the space housed the Wei-Wen Yu Center for Cold-Formed Steel Structures until the center closed in 2020. The space is being converted into a place for students to study and relax, and highlights Dr. Yu’s career his contributions to Missouri S&T and the field of cold-formed steel design.
