Dr. Mark Towler, the Linda and Bipin Doshi Professor of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, will share his experiences as an inventor during an upcoming session of the NextGen Discovery Series at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the Innovation Lab Forum and online. Towler developed a new technology to stop severe bleeding in the field. The invention is a bioactive glass powder that can be applied to a wound to dramatically reduce clotting time, whether that’s in the back of an ambulance, on the battlefield, or in the home.
