Join S&T’s information technology team in congratulating Perry Koob on his promotion to information security officer.
“Perry pairs a passion for people with the pursuit of preserving our security environment,” says Barry Robbins, chief information officer
Koob earned a master’s degree in information science and technology and a bachelor’s degree in computer science, both from Missouri S&T. He served as the interim chief information officer for S&T between August 2022 and May 2024.
In his new role, Koob will continue to report to Robbins, and he will be responsible for all technology security on S&T’s campus. His responsibilities will include security for non-research and research technology, and he will partner with the University of Missouri System chief information security officer to ensure we are protecting our campus. In addition, Koob will partner with various offices at the UM System level to ensure Missouri S&T is compliant with the appropriate policies and regulations.
Outside of work, Koob enjoys time with his family and has a newfound enthusiasm for pickleball and golf. He believes strongly in the mission of S&T to make a difference in the lives of our students, community and world.
