The beauty and functionality of Missouri S&T’s campus environment are the result of the dedicated efforts of our landscaping services maintenance group and landscape design team. This team works tirelessly behind the scenes to create and maintain the welcoming outdoor spaces that our students, faculty and staff enjoy daily.

The landscaping services team is responsible for a wide range of activities that ensure our campus remains a vibrant and inviting place. Their main tasks include mowing grass, trimming trees, planting and maintaining flower beds, removing outdoor trash, preparing areas for outdoor events, and removing snow. As they do for each upcoming season, this team took on a project to design red, white, and blue flower beds across the campus for the summer season, adding a patriotic touch to our outdoor spaces.

The Arrival Complex

In addition to routine maintenance, the landscape services team is involved in designing and maintaining landscape areas across campus, including the development of the Arrival Complex and Tim Bradley Way, and the extension of the pedestrian promenade to the west of Havener Center. These ambitious new landscape projects span dozens of acres and connect the spaces between our existing and new facilities, like the Innovation Lab and the Highway 63 pedestrian underpass. S&T’s team regularly coordinates with consultants and contractors to ensure the successful installation and long-term maintenance of these landscaping projects. Their efforts are crucial in transforming these areas and many others into a functional and aesthetically pleasing part of the campus.

Behind the scenes

While the landscaping and construction crews are often seen on campus making these improvements, many other staff members play vital roles in supporting these operations and projects. Business support staff, accounting staff, and operations and project management staff all work to ensure that individuals have the resources they need to perform their tasks efficiently. These teams and multiple departments are all involved in making sure that our campus landscaping is well-maintained and beautiful for students, faculty, staff and campus visitors.

Thank you

The campus community extends gratitude to the landscaping services maintenance crew for their hard work and dedication, and those that support their mission. Their efforts not only enhance the beauty of campus but also contribute to a welcoming and safe environment for everyone at Missouri S&T. As the campus continues to grow, their contributions remain an integral part of S&T’s success.
