Dr. Jagannathan Sarangapani, Rutledge-Emerson Professor in Electrical Engineering, and his former doctoral students, Drs. Vignesh Narayanan and Avimanyu Sahoo, have published a book. It is titled Optimal Event-Triggered Control Using Adaptive Dynamic Programming. Narayanan is an assistant professor in computer science and engineering at the University of South Carolina and Avimanyu is an assistant professor in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

The book addresses networked control systems as a first step to realize cyber-physical systems or industry 4.0 vision. The authors apply several powerful modern control techniques to the design of event-triggered controllers for many applications such as robot manipulators, drones  and others.
