Zhang presents at GeoShanghai conference

Dr. Xiong Zhang teaches a short course at the GeoShanghai International Conference 2024.

Dr. Xiong Zhang, professor in civil, architectural and environmental engineering, organized a short course, titled “Simple Methods to Rapidly Characterize and Model Unsaturated Soil Behavior,” at the GeoShanghai International Conference 2024 in Shanghai in May.

Additionally, a paper by an S&T research team, titled “Thermo-mechanical stability analysis of hollow cellular concrete block air convection embankments for cold regions,” won the Best Paper Award of the conference. The paper’s co-authors are Zhang, Dr. Hanli Wu, his former doctoral student, and Dr. Jenny Liu, James A. Heidman Professor in Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering.
