Katie Hatcher, formerly a pre-award grants and contracts administrator with sponsored programs, was recently named proposal project manager for the proposal development unit within research and innovation.
Hatcher succeeds Abbie Sherman, who joined the University of Missouri-Columbia’s strategic proposal development service in late 2023. As the new proposal project manager, Hatcher will provide project management support for proposals during the development and submission process.
“This role is crucial to the growth of the research enterprise here at S&T, and we could not be more pleased that Katie has joined the unit,” says Maria Shaub, associate director of research activities, who leads the proposal development unit. “She brings a wealth of project management skills from her eight-year tenure as an operations manager for a large construction company in Nashville, Tennessee. S&T will benefit greatly from using her skills in team leadership, relationship development, problem-solving and much more.”
Hatcher earned a master’s degree in business administration from Lipscomb University in Nashville and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She grew up in Steelville, Missouri. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, especially her two nieces and dog, Dolly.
