In a heartfelt endeavor to highlight the timeless importance of parents in Islam, the Muslim Students Association (MSA) has introduced a spiritual contemplation by Quranic verses on parents by making this survey available: https://forms.gle/w8HmQ5wjCLe9cWvs9 which is still accepting responses aiming at producing a journal en masse. This initiative goes beyond the confines of Mother’s Day, delving into verses from the Quran that emphasize the profound value of parents in our lives from here to hereafter.
Participants were invited to read and recite, embarking on a reflective journey exploring the teachings of Islam regarding parental respect, gratitude, and care. President of MSA, Abdullah Al Moinee, and his wife, Morium Jebun, paid tribute to their mother, Mrs. Shaheen Akther & Mrs. Nazma Akter, by reciting verses from the Quran discussing honoring parents. One of the verses reflected by the Quran (46:15) says, “My Lord! Inspire me to always be thankful for Your favours which You blessed me and my parents with, and to do good deeds that please You. And instill righteousness in my offspring.”
As Md. Bahar Uddin (son of Murshida Begum) and Rubia Hassan (daughter of Jawhaira) from S&T shared their heartfelt emotions as well; the spiritual survey by MSA has become a beautiful reminder of the eternal significance of honoring our parents through the sacred philosophy of Islam and the Quran. It’s not just about celebrating them on one specific day; it’s about cherishing and respecting them every single day, in every aspect of our lives.
