Joshua Santy, Samuel Schrader and Andrew Madsen are winners of the 2024 Fuller Prize Competition for Undergraduate Research.
First prize went to Santy and Schrader, seniors in physics. Santy is advised by Dr. Julia Medvedeva, professor of physics, and his project was titled “Amorphous Transparent Metal Oxide p-type Semiconductors.” Schrader is advised by Dr. Daniel Fischer, associate professor of physics, and his project was titled “Visualization of Ultracold Atomic Samples.”
The third prize was awarded to Madsen, a junior in physics, for his project titled “Towards Understanding Dust Attenuation of Emission Lines with Illustris TNG Galaxies” He is advised by Dr. Shun Saito, assistant professor of physics.
The Fuller Prize Competition for Undergraduate Research honors the memory of Dr. Harold Q. Fuller, former chair of the physics department.
