On Thursday, May 23, the University of Missouri Board of Curators voted to approve tuition rates for the 2024-25 academic year. The new rates maintain UM’s reputation for being a top value in higher education nationally and allow the UM System to continue investing in student success.

Undergraduate tuition will rise 5% at all UM System universities: Missouri S&T, University of Missouri-Columbia, University of Missouri-Kansas City, and University of Missouri-St. Louis. Graduate tuition increases will range from 3% to 5% at the UM System universities. At Missouri S&T, graduate tuition will rise 3%.

The tuition increases will continue to provide funding to:

  • Invest in more course sections
  • Invest in more advisors
  • Invest in more faculty
  • Invest in more tutoring support
  • Invest in new classrooms and laboratories
  • Invest in new instruments
  • Invest in research opportunities.

Since 2018, UM’s strategy for investing in student success has resulted in historic highs in retention and graduation rates. Over the past five years, the university’s cost per degree has fallen 11% when compared to inflation.
