Missouri S&T’s academic advisors traveled to the University of Missouri-Kansas City to present their findings to peers from the University of Missouri System, including deans from each campus. The event was the UM Advise Advisor Development Program campus meeting.
Presentations by S&T staff included:
- Norma-Gene Cottrell, academic advisor for electrical and computer engineering, presented “How to Listen so Gen Z will Speak.”
- Linda Flentje, academic advisor for mechanical and aerospace engineering, presented “Student and Staff Resource for Cooperative Engineering.”
- Jason Newton, academic advisor for computer science, and Kevin Walkup, academic advisor for chemical and biochemical engineering, presented “Retaining Talent within S&T.”
- Brittany Parnell, senior academic advisor for the S&T Advising Center, presented “Academic Advisor Training Course.”
All projects benefited from the guidance of Dr. Dan Reardon, vice provost for undergraduate education, and Amy McMillen, director of the S&T Advising Center.
