Undergraduate students are invited to compete in the Micro Grand Challenge with Dr. Shelley Minteer 2-5 p.m. Sunday, April 21. Minteer is the director of the Kummer Institute Center for Resource Sustainability on campus. This event is modeled after the international Grand Challenges event.

Minteer will be selecting a specific focus area within resource sustainability and giving students a briefing on the challenges in this area. Students will be broken up into teams and will have 90 minutes to work on digging into the problem and identifying the specific area of research they think is critical to finding solutions for this issue.

The winning team will be able to realize their research with Minteer in the fall, receiving research scholarships through the Opportunities for Undergraduate Research Experiences program. Students should register online.

The S&T campus community is invited to hear the final team presentations starting at 3:45 p.m. the day of the event.
