There’s plenty of activity going on in athletics as the winter seasons near their conclusions and the spring seasons get underway.
S&T’s swimming team is competing this week at the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championships in Evansville, Indiana. Later this month, the Miner track and field teams will be at their GLVC championship meet in Indianapolis with the men’s team looking to defend their conference championship. Meanwhile, the S&T basketball teams have one home weekend of play remaining on their schedules, Thursday, Feb. 22, and Saturday, Feb. 24, when they play Drury University and Southwest Baptist University, respectively. The men’s volleyball teams have home games this week on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and several home games in March.
The spring season is already off and running with the softball team beginning their 2024 schedule this past weekend and their first home game being Saturday, March 23. The baseball team opens its season with 16 straight home games beginning on Friday, Feb. 16. The Miners will be at home for the first four weekends of the season.
S&T’s golf team will open the spring portion of its schedule during the first weekend of March with a tournament in Arizona, as the team looks to return to the NCAA Division II Tournament following its eighth-place finish there a year ago.
