Are you tired of having the same conversations and getting nowhere? Do you know someone who you just cannot speak to because emotions always flare up? Do you go silent during disagreements?
Strategic diversity initiatives (SDI) will offer a series of workshops revolving around the book Crucial Conversations. This best-selling book has a foundation of 30 years of social science. According to the book jacket, “Crucial Conversations provides power skills to ensure every conversation – especially difficult ones – leads to the results you want.”
The book teaches these skills in a way that shows the reader how to be persuasive instead of abrasive or silent. When the stakes for a conversation are high, emotions are running strong, and opinions vary – you have three choices: avoid a crucial conversation and suffer the consequences, handle the conversation poorly and suffer the consequences, or use the tools in Crucial Conversations and improve your relationships and results.
The workshops will be limited to the first 30 participants. Participants will receive a free copy of Crucial Conversations for their professional library. The dates of the workshop are Feb. 6, Feb. 27 and March 5. The sessions will be held at noon in the Havener Center.
An email with more details will be sent out to participants after they register. Register on Percipio.
