What does a communications manager do? The communications manager serves as the primary marketing, communications, and customer relations manager within residential life. Responsibilities include promoting and communicating the benefits of residence hall living.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love meeting new people and learning about different perspectives and cultures. I think that is my favorite aspect of university life. It’s the perfect opportunity to expand one’s understanding of the world around them.
What is one thing on your bucket list?
I would love to go to Spain someday and see all of Antoni Guadi’s works in Barcelona.
What do you do for fun?
When I can, I go hiking. I went kayaking for the first time this past year and I definitely see myself doing that more frequently.
What is something that others may not know about you?
I am a self-published author.
What is your favorite place on campus?
Hmm, this is a difficult question. So far, I think it’s the Havener Center. On the second floor, beautiful art is displayed.
What would you describe as the most important personal attribute or strength that you bring to your job?
I have an outgoing and creative personality. I believe these qualities play a pivotal role in my success.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Failure is necessary for growth. Even if it feels personal, failure is one of the best ways to learn. It’s not truly failure unless you refuse to learn from the experience. I believe it is crucial to maintain a growth mindset.
