You’re invited to a talk by a candidate for the Weiner Distinguished Professor in Humanities at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, in Room 140 Toomey Hall. Dr. Gary Rhodes, professor of media production at Oklahoma Baptist University, will present a talk titled “Infectious Images: Communicable Disease and the American Movie Theater.”
Since 1992, Rhodes has written, directed, commercially broadcast and distributed films. He has also authored numerous books on the cinema, including The Perils of Moviegoing in America, The Birth of the American Horror Film, and Consuming Images: Film Art and the American Television Commercial.
