Join us on Monday, Jan. 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Student Involvement Office located at 218 Havener. The Office of Student Involvement is hosting an event where students are invited to spend the day with our staff. It’s a great opportunity to meet the team, learn more about our programs, and get involved in community service projects. We have a range of service projects available and encourage students to participate and make a difference in our community.
In the afternoon, Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., Career Opportunities and Employer Relations (COER) is hosting a workshop that will teach you how to market your involvement skills, located in the Carver-Turner room. This workshop is perfect for students who want to learn how to talk about their extracurriculars at the Career Fair or include their involvement on their resume in a meaningful way. Come and learn how to showcase your participation in campus activities to potential employers.
Followed by the Strategic Diversity Initiatives (SDI) House is offering a tour of its facility and resources on Tuesday, Jan. 30, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can stop by the House, located at 605 W. 11th Street in Rolla, MO 65409, during the designated time slot to explore the space and learn about the initiatives and programs offered there. This event offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the work being done by the Strategic Diversity Initiatives House.
On Tuesday, Jan. 30, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. located in the Carver-Turner, Students can attend the “Getting to Know RSOs: A Dating Game” event room to learn about different Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) on campus. RSO leaders will answer fun and engaging questions from students. The event is expected to be a lot of fun and we hope to see many new faces there.
Or join us for the Chancellor’s Speaker Series on Wednesday, Jan. 31, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., located at the Hasselmann Alumni House, presenting Dr. Sharon Walker, dean of the College of Engineering at Drexel University. This event is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are requested. Light refreshments will be served beginning at 4 p.m.
Additionally, the Student Union Board (SUB) will be hosting a movie night and bingo event featuring the popular film Ratatouille, on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. in Toomey Hall, room 199. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy the film and participate in a game of bingo.
Don’t miss the action-packed basketball games on Thursday, Feb. 1! Come and cheer on the Missouri S&T Women’s Basketball team and the Missouri S&T Men’s Basketball team, as they face off against Indianapolis at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Gibson Arena. Are you still undecided about which student organization to join? You can attend the Spring O’Rama Involvement Fair on Friday, Feb. 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This event will take place at 218 Havener, and you will have the opportunity to explore and discover one of the 175 organizations available. The Spring O’Rama Involvement Fair is an annual event organized by Student Involvement to showcase the diverse range of organizations that Missouri S&T’s campus has to offer.
Finally, on Friday, Feb. 2, be sure to stop in at Green Friday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., located at the Puck. “Green Fridays” are hosted every Friday of the spring semester until St. Patrick’s Day. At the event, each organization performs a St. Pats parody of a song. The organizations change the lyrics of popular songs to words that relate to St. Patrick’s Day.
