Dr. Kelvin Erickson, Curator’s Distinguished Teaching Professor of electrical and computer engineering, authored two foundational books on programmable logic controllers last year.

The first book, Programmable Logic Controllers: An Emphasis on Design and Application, provides a comprehensive guide to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) with a focus on program design.

The second book, Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers: An Emphasis on Design and Application, provides an introductory guide to Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLCs) with a focus on program design. Predominantly using ladder logic, this book applies to Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Micro800, MicroLogix, and SLC-500 processors.
