Westenberg leads microbiology conference

Dr. Dave Westenberg, Curators’ Distinguished Teaching Professor of Biological Sciences, chaired the 30th annual American Society for Microbiology Conference for Undergraduate Educators. The conference was held Nov. 17-19 in Phoenix.

In addition to Westenberg’s role as conference chair, he co-presented a session on writing learning objectives to align with the ASM curriculum guidelines and presented a conference session sponsored by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute BioInteractive program.

Westenberg also taught a three-week lecture series titled “The Past, Present and Future of Antibiotics” through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. The lecture series led up to World Antibiotic Awareness Week, observed Nov. 18-24.
