Kummer doctoral fellow publishes two papers

Ademola Adesokan, a Kummer Innovation and Entrepreneurship Doctoral Fellow, has published two papers. His advisor is Dr. Sanjay Madria, Curators’ Distinguished Professor in Computer Science.

Published in Social Network Analysis and Mining, the first paper is on low-level emotion classifications and spatiotemporal trends of hate and offensive COVID-19 tweets . The second paper has been accepted and will appear in the IEEE Bigdata 2023, a  conference on big data, which will be held Dec. 15-18 in Sorrento, Italy. The paper is titled “NeuEmot: Reducing False Neutral Classification in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Using Low-Level Emotions.”

Adesokan also has a third paper that is ready for submission on the topic of granular disaster classifications using data from the X platform, formerly known as Twitter. He is also working on a National Science Foundation I-Corps program.
