Jossalyn M. Gale has been appointed as the next Director of the Writing and Communication Center (formerly the Writing Center) at S&T.
Jossalyn M. Gale from New Jersey earned her Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Miami and later her Ph.D. from Saint Louis University. Gale worked with Roger Weaver to develop Scholar’s Mine at the Curtis Laws Wilson Library. She is a professor in the Department of English and Technical Communication, focusing on writing pedagogy for STEM students. Gale has won awards for innovative teaching methods and is affiliated with national associations such as 4Cs and MLA. She served as interim Writing Center Director and is developing the S&T Writing and Communication Center.
“With her experience, research interests and professional connections, we are excited to have Jossalyn in this role,” said Bella K. Gerlich, Ph.D., dean of libraries. “As director, Jossalyn will move the Writing and Communication Center forward to become a hub for continuous learning and development, research, and expertise in academic and professional writing, speaking, and visual presentation.”
The Writing and Communication Center will be moving to the 2nd floor of the Wilson Library this spring.
