Sigma Pi’s Alpha Iota Education Foundation (AIEF) named two freshmen as 2023 scholarship recipients. These scholarships are available to high school graduates, or the equivalent, who are enrolled to attend S&T.

Charlie Dickman, an aerospace engineering student from Kansas City, Missouri, was awarded the Richard “Rich” and Ruth Swanson Memorial Scholarship of $5,000. He is a member of Air Force ROTC.

The scholarship was established in memory of former Alpha Iota Chapter member Rich Swanson and his wife, Ruth, for their philanthropy and generous gift to the fraternity.

Reese Newland, a chemical engineering student from Steelville, Missouri, was awarded the Dr. Richard “Dick” Miller Scholarship of ,500.

The scholarship was established to honor Dr. Richard Miller, former chair of arts, languages and philosophy, for his service as the fraternity’s faculty advisor for 22 years.
