Did you know that there is a University of Missouri System Staff Book Club? Employees at universities in the UM System are welcome to join the “Ready, Set, Read” book club.
The club meets virtually and in person on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus approximately every 6 weeks in January, March, May, July, September, October and December. The club votes on the date of the meeting and book choice, with the exception of January and July, when you can pick your own book.
Upcoming themes include:
- December 2023: Book to Screen. The meeting with be at noon Friday, Dec. 1, and the book choice is Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus.
- January 2024: Pick Your Poison – Reader’s choice.
- July 2024: Pick Your Poison – My favorite book.
- March 2024: International women authors or characters.
- May 2024: A memoir.
