Simran Bhatia, senior organizational health education specialist in student well-being, delivered a presentation titled “Leading with Grit, Resilience, Emotional Intelligence and Mentorship” to undergraduates at the University of Alabama at Birmingham on Oct. 25. Her audience included students from the management, information systems, and quantitative methods programs at the Collat School of Business.
Drawing on her knowledge as an industrial-organizational psychologist, Bhatia discussed aspects of leadership, emphasizing the roles of grit and resilience in self-leadership and leading others, the importance of emotional intelligence in fostering harmonious work environments, and the significance of mentorship in personal and professional growth.
